Why is Master Shuu sick?

Published in Character Illness 1 min read

Master Shuu's sickness is primarily due to severe depression and anorexia, which developed following a deeply traumatic event.

The Root Cause of His Illness

Shuu Tsukiyama, often referred to as Master Shuu, became severely ill as a result of profound emotional distress. His condition was triggered by the apparent demise of Ken Kaneki, a person with whom he had developed a complex and intense bond. While initially motivated by a hidden desire to consume Kaneki due to an obsession with his unique scent and taste, Shuu eventually came to genuinely care for him.

Impact on His Health

The loss of Kaneki plunged Shuu into a state of severe depression. This emotional breakdown manifested physically as anorexia, leading to a drastic decline in his health. The combination of these conditions left him emaciated and extremely frail.

For approximately two years after Kaneki's presumed death, Shuu's health deteriorated to such an extent that he required constant and dedicated care from his family servants. His physical weakness and mental anguish made him dependent on others for his basic well-being, highlighting the severe impact of his grief and despair.
