The Direct Process involves a series of precise steps designed to extract caffeine from the green coffee beans:

  • Initial Soaking: The green coffee beans are first immersed in water. This step prepares the beans by making them more receptive to the subsequent caffeine extraction.
  • Caffeine Removal: A decaffeinating agent is then introduced and mixed directly with the water-soaked beans. This agent selectively binds with the caffeine molecules, effectively drawing them out of the beans.
