What are foxy eyes?

Published in Cosmetic Procedures 1 min read

Foxy eyes are characterized by a slightly slanted, almond-shaped eye appearance, often associated with a lifted and elongated look.

This look can be achieved in a couple of ways:

  • Makeup Techniques: The most common approach is to use makeup, specifically winged eyeliner and strategic eyeshadow placement, to create the illusion of an upward slant and elongated eye shape, mimicking the foxy eye appearance. This is a temporary and non-invasive method.

  • Cosmetic Procedures: More permanent results can be obtained through various cosmetic procedures. These procedures aim to physically alter the shape of the eye or surrounding tissues to create the desired slanted and almond-shaped look. Examples include:

    • Canthoplasty: Surgical alteration of the outer corner (canthus) of the eye.
    • Canthopexy: A procedure to support and tighten the outer canthus.
    • Thread lifts: Using threads to lift the outer brow area, indirectly impacting the eye shape.
    • Brow lifts: Lifting the entire brow can also contribute to a more almond-shaped eye appearance.

It's important to remember that aesthetic ideals are subjective and constantly evolving. When considering cosmetic procedures, thorough research and consultation with qualified and experienced medical professionals are crucial to understand the risks, benefits, and realistic outcomes.
