Before the jinn inhabited the Earth, there were other creations known as the Hinn and the Binn.
According to many scholars of Tafsir (exegesis of the Quran), these entities resided on Earth prior to the creation of Adam (peace be upon him) and even before the jinn.
Entities Preceding the Jinn on Earth
The Earth has witnessed various forms of creation throughout its history, with different beings inhabiting it in succession. Before the jinn became the dominant inhabitants, two specific creations are mentioned:
- The Hinn: These were among the beings that populated the Earth before the jinn.
- The Binn: Alongside the Hinn, the Binn also existed on Earth during this earlier period.
The Transition of Dominance
It is understood that Allah eventually caused the jinn to prevail over the Hinn and the Binn. As a result, the jinn engaged in conflict with these earlier inhabitants, ultimately killing them and expelling them from the Earth. Following this, the jinn then took over and inhabited the Earth themselves, preceding the creation and arrival of humankind.
