How Do I Trigger Hyperbloom?

Published in Genshin Impact Reactions 3 mins read

You trigger Hyperbloom by applying an Electro attack to Dendro Cores, which are themselves generated from the Bloom reaction (Hydro + Dendro).

Understanding the Hyperbloom Reaction

Hyperbloom is a powerful Dendro-related elemental reaction in Genshin Impact, known for its strong single-target damage. It's a two-step process:

  1. Create Dendro Cores: This is the initial step, involving the Bloom reaction. You need to apply Hydro onto an enemy affected by Dendro, or apply Dendro onto an enemy affected by Hydro. When this happens, a Dendro Core is generated. Up to five Dendro Cores can exist on the field simultaneously.
  2. Trigger Hyperbloom: Once Dendro Cores are present, apply an Electro attack to them. When an Electro attack hits a Dendro Core, it transforms into a homing Dendro projectile. This projectile will seek out and strike a single nearby enemy, dealing Dendro damage.

For example, in a typical combat scenario, you might initiate with a Dendro character like Nahida using her Elemental Skill to chain enemies together with a Dendro application. Following this, a Hydro character such as Xingqiu can use his Elemental Burst to apply Hydro, creating multiple Dendro Cores on the field. Finally, switching to an Electro character like Keqing to apply Electro will cause these cores to rapidly transform into Hyperbloom projectiles, striking enemies.

Key Factors for Effective Hyperbloom

To maximize your Hyperbloom damage and team effectiveness, consider the following:

  • Elemental Mastery (EM): The damage of Hyperbloom reactions scales significantly with the Elemental Mastery (EM) and character level of the Electro character who triggers the reaction. Prioritize building high EM on your Electro trigger.
  • Consistent Application: Ensure a steady supply of Dendro and Hydro application to continuously generate Dendro Cores. The faster you can create cores, the more opportunities your Electro character has to trigger Hyperbloom.
  • Electro Trigger Selection:
    • Characters with consistent off-field Electro application are ideal, as they can reliably hit Dendro Cores.
    • Kuki Shinobu and Raiden Shogun (especially when built for Elemental Mastery) are prime examples due to their reliable and frequent Electro application that can easily trigger Hyperbloom on multiple cores.
    • Other effective Electro triggers include Yae Miko, Fischl, and Keqing.

Optimizing Your Hyperbloom Team

Building an effective Hyperbloom team revolves around ensuring the three core elements are present and the Electro trigger's stats are optimized:

  • Dendro Applicators:
    • Nahida
    • Dendro Traveler
    • Collei
    • Alhaitham
    • Baizhu
    • Kirara
  • Hydro Applicators:
    • Xingqiu
    • Yelan
    • Kokomi
    • Ayato
    • Furina
    • Neuvillette
    • Barbara
  • Electro Triggers (Focus on EM Build):
    • Kuki Shinobu
    • Raiden Shogun (EM build)
    • Yae Miko
    • Fischl
    • Keqing

By combining these elements strategically, you can create a highly efficient and damaging Hyperbloom team.
