Upon Tywin Lannister's death, Cersei Lannister inherited Casterly Rock, becoming its new Lady.
The Line of Succession to Casterly Rock
Casterly Rock, the ancestral seat of House Lannister, traditionally passes to the eldest legitimate male heir. However, the circumstances surrounding Tywin Lannister's demise significantly altered this conventional line of succession:
- Tyrion Lannister's Disqualification: Tywin's youngest son, Tyrion, was the presumptive heir to Casterly Rock. Nevertheless, following his declaration of guilt for regicide and his subsequent flight across the Narrow Sea, Tyrion was effectively disinherited. His status as a condemned fugitive rendered him ineligible to claim the Lordship of Casterly Rock.
- Cersei's Ascendancy: With Tyrion removed from the succession due to his conviction and exile, Cersei, as Tywin's eldest and only remaining legitimate child still eligible to inherit, became his closest lawful heir. This established her as the new Lady of Casterly Rock and the head of House Lannister.
