Can a Goryo Change Rooms?

Published in Phasmophobia Ghost Behavior 2 mins read

Generally, a Goryo cannot change its favorite room on its own in Phasmophobia. While most ghosts have the ability to roam or shift their preferred haunting location under certain conditions, the Goryo is a unique exception to this rule.

Understanding Goryo Room Behavior

The Goryo is known for its strong attachment to its initial ghost room, making it one of the most predictable ghosts in terms of location. This characteristic significantly impacts how players might approach identifying and dealing with this entity.

  • Fixed Favorite Room: Unlike many other ghost types, a Goryo cannot change its favorite room by itself. This holds true even if game parameters, such as the "Changing favourite room" setting, are set to "High." Its preferred haunting spot remains static throughout the investigation.
  • Forced Relocation: There is one specific, rare exception to this fixed behavior:
    • A specific Monkey Paw wish can force a Goryo to change its favorite room. However, this is a one-time event, and after this forced change, the Goryo will again become fixed in its new favorite room.

This unique trait makes the Goryo's room behavior a crucial clue during investigations, as it suggests that if the ghost's activity consistently points to a single room without ever shifting, it might be a Goryo.
