How to Change Your Playlist Name

Published in Playlist Management 3 mins read

Changing your playlist name is a straightforward process across most music streaming platforms, allowing you to personalize and organize your music collection. As the creator or owner of a playlist, including collaborative ones, you have complete control over its name, description, and image, as well as the ability to modify the songs within it.

General Steps to Rename a Playlist

While the exact steps might vary slightly depending on the specific app or website you're using, the core process remains consistent. Here’s a general guide:

  1. Locate Your Playlist: Open your music streaming app or website and navigate to your library or "Your Playlists" section.
  2. Select the Playlist: Find the playlist you wish to rename and click or tap on it to open its dedicated page.
  3. Find the Edit Option: Look for an "Edit" button, a pencil icon, or a three-dot/ellipsis menu (often labeled "More" or similar) near the playlist's current name or description. On some platforms, you might be able to simply click directly on the playlist name to activate editing.
  4. Enter New Name: A text field will appear, usually pre-filled with the current playlist name. Delete the old name and type in your desired new name.
  5. Save Changes: After entering the new name, confirm your changes by tapping or clicking "Save," "Done," or a similar confirmation button.
